Main Uses and Properties of Tea tree oil.

We will analyze the main uses of tea tree essential oil, although it has many more, since it is antibacterial, antiviral, fungicidal, healing and even insect repellent, but it is also toxic so you have to use it safely.

Antiseptic

It´s one of the most potent natural antiseptics, and therefore is applied topically and always diluted. Another 70-degree oil or alcohol can be used as a vehicle, diluting in relation to 5 parts to one of tea tree essential oil. It´s used to apply it to wounds, burns and blisters. Its power is so strong that it prevents infections from appearing even better than the conventional pharmaceutical product.

Acne

One of the most common uses of oil is as a home remedy for acne.

A 5 percent solution of tea tree oil works just as well as the best acne remedy in pharmacies, benzoyl peroxide, according to Australian researchers studying its native resource.

To use it dilute a few drops of tea tree oil with 20 to 40 drops of witch hazel, and apply on the skin once or twice a day with a cotton swab.

Another way to use it would be to add a few drops to some Aloe Vera gel. Or we can put a few drops in a little honey and make as a face mask.

Be careful not to use it excessively. Although it is softer than benzoyl peroxide, the oil can dry your skin, causing your body to produce its own oils.

If applied to the face, avoid exposure to the sun afterwards since this oil reacts with UV rays.

Foot fungus and infections

Nail infections, athlete’s foot and other funguses are a thing of the past with a little tea tree essential oil. In these cases, it´s applied pure. You should put a few drops directly on the affected area and spread with your fingertip. It is as effective as commercial products based on clotrimazole.
